Just because I'm not singing it's praises like you lot? ...Well, with the exception of a few who have obviously jumped on the bandwagon after seeing everyone else treating it like the best show on TV.

Like I said, I wasn't in the mood and I don't think I need to explain the situation further than that.
And if you say someone sucks because they have a different opinion you can fuck off.

Now if the show was about 5th/6th years in Scotland then I'd watch, but these 6th formers are cunts.

I dont think many have jumped on a bandwagon, Ive watched it from the first series when it came out and thought it was awesome. Plus it'd make pretty much no difference if it was set in Scotland except lower ratings. If anything it's probably better set in England tbh.

Also, try to remember this place is pretty light hearted Wink

There's a difference between a bandwagon and the awesome train.

The bandwagon travels around picking up ignorant fools who just join in because everyone else is.

The awesome train makes a stop at each station and picks up new passengers. Passengers who join because they KNOW it's awesome.

It delivered.

You, on the other hand, have actually watched it... and then said it's shit. That's worse... because it is, in fact, fucking pro.

Hodgie... I don't believe it to be possible that you don't like The Inbetweeners... Maybe your TV was just acting up... give it a good, long wind-up on Thursday just before you watch The Inbetweeners. Or maybe you just need to wind-up your brain.

Or perhaps it might be best to stop being a Scottish twat.

Why would I need to even bother turning on my brain to watch such a mindless, unintelligent show? It's hardly clever, after all it's no more than a rip-off of other more successful TV shows and films.

That last point is good. I'm down south for week, therefor might actually enjoy the show come Thursday. :]

It's a rip-off?

Please, pray-tell fair douchebag, which "more successful TV shows and films" is The Inbetweeners ripping off?

I'd love to know, because I thought it was quite an original show. The humour is far more youth oriented than typical comedies, and it's a situation rarely seen (if ever) in comedies too.

Re: Inbetweeners new series

The main concept has been done countless times: A group of mates always rinsing each other and trying to get laid, which I agree, can be funny. In Peep Show, it's funny. In Superbad it's funny. In Frasier it was funny. In American Pie it's funny. This isn't.
True, it does manage to capture what goes on with a retarded group of a friends at school, but what's funny in real life isn't exactly funny on TV. But then again, it's hardly realistic (for my experience at school - I'm not sure about how English people act with friends, drawing nobs on mansions?) each character has half a personality between them and so they react the same in every situation. You could swap the lines of each character and still get the same result.
I've had mates at school reenact the footballer's friends scene. You know the one, when they repeat "FWEND" for five minutes. That was quality. They even managed to do it better than those actors, yet it was still pathetic.
There's a reason why it's on E4, for those people too lazy to turn the channel after watching Skins.

If you watch skins, you're a cunt anyway.

Oh, and it's great that you mention the lack of personality of the characters in The Inbetweeners... And then mention a number of examples where the "same" situation works. Each of which, however, is full of one-dimensional, predictable, characters.

Do you know why Comedies always pick characters such as these? Because it fucking works! Exaggeration is a big part of comedy, and in sitcoms it is important to emphasise personality traits, which is why you always get characters like that. It makes the show funnier, and more easy to relate to. If one character has a particular, blatant disposition, we can often relate to this, because it is something which we may have experience of ourselves, even if only a little bit. Oh, and the Inbetweeners is far more "realistic" than your overly emotional skins bullshit. I have not once, ever, met a person who is remotely like any of the characters on Skins... as far as I can tell, they're all complete wankers, whining all the fucking time. However, I know people who are like the characters on The Inbetweeners.. I can relate to those characters.. To me, they are more real.

Hodgie, I suggest you take a vacuum to your pussy, because there's clearly a shit load of sand stuck up there.

Write a script for a comedy show, based on anything you want. Then show us on here. I doubt you could do a better job.

I've seen two episodes from season one, both were of a group of lads trying to get some but ultimately failing because of blah blah fuckin' blah.
To be honest, I'd rather watch re-runs of Not Going Out.

Like you said Timmy, you enjoy it because you can relate to what's going on. Unfortunately my friends aren't fucktards so...

Anyway, I'll let you watch an enjoy without having to read an opposing view. Smile
