PGR:F1 Season *Lock Please*

To comemorate the upcoming F1 season, I thought it would be worth a shot holding an F1 type event on PGR4. Don't worry - overtaking would be allowed in this

How would it work?
Players will get into groups of 2. These two's would represent either a real world car manufacturerer (Ferrari ect) or your own if your so inclined. Each team will pick a car which they will compete in throughout the season and then would compete in each race for position in that car.

Like in real F1 - this position would yield both individual points and Constructers points.

Drivers Championship
Individual Championship Points. The more races a person appears in the more chance they will have to win this award.

Constructers Championship
Team Championship. The better a team does in each race will lead to points here.

So what do people think? If theres support I'd be willing to organise it and put some sound rules into place.

This does sound like a great idea, I think strict rules about barging though, Im guessing this would be class S only?

The rules would mimic real F1 rules so basically they'd be very comprehensive and cover most things from team behaviour to on track behaviour. The idea being that unsporting behaviour would be discouraged through penalties, point deductions and disqualifications. I'm not against turning off collisions all together in some races (So every second race would be contact for example while the first wouldn't be) which is why its good there's discussion over that issue.

It wouldn't be limited to specific Class S because the tracks I'd pick wouldn't necessarily rely on speed. Obviously picking Class S would benifit greatly a team but a punishment could be to use a Class B car for example for ramming and such. This is one of the things that is also up for debate. One thing I am sticking to though is each team would have to use one car only throughout the season (So teams would have to agree on which one they want to use prior to picking)

I suspect there wouldn't be enough interest. I could horde it out on ONM to make up numbers but that would sort of make it pointless IMO.

Ah well, shall keep this one in mind.
