Re: Fallout 3

Post by Hodgieoreoh on Wed Jan 28, 2009 5:41 pm

Played it some more last night and couldn't stop. I'm starting to like it some more, mainly due to the awesome graphical glitches I've been getting.
Imagine controlling The Sims icon (found above a selected Sim's head) around the Fallout3 universe. Standing still you're green, moving you're yellow, jumping makes you blue, and you turn red when you're taking damage. So much more fun, but alas, the glitch soon ended when Fallout decided to crash.

Sold 289 fingers yesterday, found 100 locations and killed 300 people. Maybe I shouldn't of wiped out the population of Paradise Falls, Megaton, Rivet City and Big Town, but it was worth it.

It'd be so much easier if you just went out and bought 360 version. Razz

I might do, once I get a respectable GS on the PC version.

Two different versions = two lots of gamer score. xD

The link in the recently added game add ons said 'The Pitt' and then took me to Operation Achorage, its not like it went and just selected Operation Achorage by looking through all downloads.

Actually, it would have taken you to Fallout 3's downloads tab, and you would have had to confirm what you were buying twice before you paid and downloaded. So you should have seen it was "Operation Anchorage" quite clearly.

Yes, but I pressumed, plus I was doing something else at the same time so I was looking at away from the screen. Dosnt really matter, I was planning on getting OA in the future anyway.

Level 16 I think, or there abouts. I use mainly the combat shotgun, and the frag mines/grenades cause don't have much ammo.

Strike 2 for Bethesda.
360 players should read too, an edit reveals how the 360 version has a game breaking bug in it too. Also, not mentioned in the article but, some players are reporting that while their achievements are unlocking, when they look at there games list or xbox.com accounts, they're not showing up. Strange.

*holds off on downloading for a while*

Re: Fallout 3

Post by Hodgieoreoh on Tue May 05, 2009 9:09 pm

Happened to me with the PC version for a while, I had to download games for windows launcher for the PC and go onto that before it showed up on both the 360 and xbox.com.

I've traded in the PC version anyway. Quite frankly my laptop doesn't run it too well and I've got bored of the mods and terrain altering tool that you can use. It's a shame I didn't get to download the Broken Steel for it - but then again, at least that will be something new for when I get the 360 version (which I'm hoping to enjoy much more without the frame-rate slowdowns/graphical glitches!

[Last week sent Fallout 3 PC over Goozex to earn enough points for the 360 version. It's just been shipped today. (: ]

Fucking great, I'm never buying a game on PC again. Everytime the ending cut-scene finishes, my game just crashes, every single time, so I can't start Broken Steel, although from the sounds of it, it wouldn't work anyway. Ugh, really annoyed, it crashed on me before but fortunately I managed to finish it once (to get the "Take it Back!" achievement). I'll just wait a few days until everything is patched/updated/working and try again.

Have you downloaded the latest updates for it?
The PC version's a pain in the ass, my version would crash when the game tried to update itself automatically - I had to manually download the updates from the fallout website, then move them into the right folder, check the right boxes, etc...
Last time I'm getting a game on PC too (that's also on the 360) ...It's just too much effort. Sad

Well it hasn't prompted me for any updates, but in the past it did exactly as you said, kept crashing. Its just bad, why does it have to crash? Sad

BTW, if anyone is wondering, my PC specs exceed those of "Recommended".

PC version is fixed, and the 360 version achievements problem has got a fix to (recovering your gamertag to delete the achievements and then earning them again).
Will download this later, was put off by all the issues at first, but like the Pitt, they've been fixed it seems, so might as well give it a pop.
