Call Of Duty: World At War

14th November

Call of Duty: World at War completely changes the rules of engagement by redefining WWII gaming and thrusting players into the final tension-filled, unforgiving battles against a new ferocious enemy in the most dangerous and suspenseful action ever seen in WWII.

Powered by Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare technology, Call of Duty: World at War brings an uncensored edge to combat, as soldiers face the most harrowing and climatic European and Pacific battles in which an enemy, who knows no surrender and no retreat, will fight to the last breath, unleashing an arsenal of lethal surprising tactics. Peril and danger lurk throughout the battlefield as players combat the unknown risk of the new chaos of battle.

From the remains of Russia and the ruins of Berlin, to the beach and jungles of the deadly Pacific Theater, the volatile action takes on added depth as players employ new features that previously were only-available in multiplayer, including perks, rankings and online stats in up-to full four-player cooperative gameplay. New infantry and vehicle-based weapons, like the potent flamethrower, bring the battlefield ablaze.

Cock of Doody can kiss mah balls. Thought the beta was pretty awful in terms of balance and general game design (7 kill streak = dogs? Really? Piss off, Treyarch), doubt single-player will be much cop either. Will wait for IW's next effort next year.

Ohai Halo fanboy.

Still seems like a step backward. I mean how many WWII games are out there? And how many current world war game are there? Never called CoD though. Sci-Fi shooters are where it's at people.

It's pretty much COD4 just in a World War II theme. I was a bit miffed at the lack of originality, I'm still geting it though.

I normally buy all COD games on launch, and again no exception here. I enjoyed the Beta, thought two of the 3 maps were quite good (roundhouse Evil or Very Mad ). I think the single player will be better than the COD3 one, but I can't see it matching up to COD4, still I'm a sucker for WW2 games for some reason.

There were a lot of comments on youtube saying its either going to be the best thing since sliced bread or a pile of wank.

No middle ground.

Personally, I don't think the campaign looks amazing. From what i've seen of it, theres really nothing to make you go "Awweeesome Very Happy" Like in COD4's campaign.

Multiplayer...meh, looks pretty much exactly like COD4...don't think i'll get on with it due to the fact ur gunna HAVE to use Iron Sights...i hate Iron Sights! >=|

Due to the fact I never played CoD 4 the beta was great for me, even with its glitches and vehicle spammers I'm still really enjoying.

Definite buy for me, hopefully the single player will be decent.

Eh? Have you not unlocked the Aperture sights for any guns yet (if you have the beta)?

The beta was pretty solid but for me doesn't seem an improvement in any way over Call of Duty 4's online play, which is what I wanted.

Cancelled my preorder the other day as I don't see the game having the lasting appeal the aforementioned game has, but I'll still get it eventually.

Looks similar to horde on GoW 2, only not as good.=3

Although I have been really looking forward to this I am quite disappointed. The reason I loved Call of Duty 3 was because Treyarch done their own thing with different from Call of Duty 2. It was a really fun breath of fresh air.

Now all they've done is use the Call of Duty 4 engine and add hardly nothing to it. It's basically Modern Warfare with a World War II mod.

I'll still be getting it, but I do not reckon it will be my favourite game of Q4 this year.

I has Beta, and on occassion I do enjoy.

But I have 3... Haven't played it... So I think I should do that before I play 4, and then WaW.

You must play 4 Dave. Not only is the single player one of the best of any FPS, but I prefer the modern weapons and stuff on the multiplayer.

I dont know whether I like this game or not, obviously with more maps and whatever else they are going to include still to come it will be better but COD4 just seemed so much better and I dont know why. I'll have another play around on it tonight and see if that changes my mind.

Nothing can be as good as Horde, nothing.

Tbh, it's just CoD4 again but in WW2 not Modern.

Try something new today indeed.

Bloody sainsburys.

But yeah. I don't reckon COD5's campaign will beat COD4's one...Dunno what it was about COD4's campaign, it was just made of pure win.

+ Gaz was awesome! Very Happy

From what i've seen of the campaign, a lot of the russian bits look like COD1/2...theres only so much you can tell about the war in an FPS.

Meh, guess we'll see! Smile

Yeah it's going to be tough for who has the better campaign, but I do think that online co-op and the zombie mode is going to be really cool. Like when the zombie mode was announced I didn't think much of it, but after playing horde on Gears 2 it's a really cool concept.

I agree with this statement.

I also agree with this.

I agree with these three sexy chaps.

I'll only ever consider buying WaW if they make it possible to kill someone with a bolt-action rifle... No, in fact.. only if they make any hit to the head from a bolt action a kill, and any hit to the torso with a bolt action incapacitate the victim. It's absolute bollocks that I can hit a guy from across the map with the asaka (or whatever) Rifle.. pretty close to the head, and he survives and just shoots the fuck out of me with a friggin' thompson... Oh.. yeah, make the SMGs more inaccurate.

FUCK. I HATE THIS GAME.

I WILL NEVER BUY IT BECAUSE I HATED THE BETA SO MUCH. FUCK YOU TREYARCH, SPIDERMAN 2 WAS GOOD, BUT NOW YOU JUST FUCK YOURSELF IN YOUR OWN ASS WITH EVERY RELEASE.
