Precisely, much like DDR isnt DDR without the dancemat etc.

And really, if they were going to try make the guitar hero controller realistic, they would need 132 buttons and 6 strum bars at least.

I have no idea where the hell this conversation has gone.

Maybe you should read the thread then? My post was a mere equation since there are 22 frets on a guitar x 6 strings = 132 buttons. 6 strings = 6 strum bars.

No shit. Rolling Eyes

Okay, let me put it this way, since we already have brought DDR into the conversation.

Would you say someone who plays DDR on a high level is a good dancer?

Of course you wouldn't. There's every possibility that this person can dance rather well, but that's not proven by them playing a dancing game.

My argument is saying people who think GH is a replacement for a real instrument are idiots, it's a game, a damn fun game but a game nonetheless, and if someone came up to me saying they could play DDR really fast and that they are therefore an excellent dancer, I would call them an idiot.

Do you see what I'm saying yet?

I got a firend who plays guitar in a band and he reeckons he can't play GH.

He also says that the fret buttons are all wrong for making the notes compared to what he's used to and that the note charts are more in time with the general beat of the music and don't focus purely on the guitar part.

I just nodded and went if you say so, but it's still fun.

True, it's because your fingers are used to moving fast and doing the chord shapes etc.

I picked up GH alot faster than my friends who don't play guitar.

I concur, actually.

My non-guitar playing friends are still struggling with Hard Mode despite playing the game much longer than me, whereas I'm going up against Tier 8 in Expert. Not getting anywhere in Tier 8, but I got there nonetheless.

And Guitar Hero helped me with hammer ons. Before I could only do like it with one finger, or else I'd lose my rhythm, but Guitar Hero helped me get it all... In order.

I don't play real guitar, yet I was pretty successful at Guitar Hero when I first picked it up. I instantly 100% songs on Easy, but I went through the difficulties anyway with a lot of ease, I only really struggled with Expert. Before playing GH I had never touched a guitar, so I guess it can work both ways too.

Yeah I might be tempted to get this along with inFamous in June when I've finished exams. That said I've already got all the GH1, GH2 and GH80's songs on GH3 PC anyway...

1) Get GH3 for PC (legally or illegally)
2) Download the songlist editor and learn to use it
3) Download some of the millions of custom songs on the interweb. Also people have converted the entire setlist from most games.

Srsly, customs are the best. You have the super hard ones like Eruption and Fury Of The Storm, and the really fun ones like Nottingham Lace and Second heartbeat.

Yeah it's similar to that except on GH3, where you don't have the lag/strumming issues.

I agree with Elmand, I'm glad they've focused more on the GH1 and GH2 songs since I don't play them so much anymore. Plus, GH1 songs with good HO/PO. Shocked
